Hello,

I just installed the ECO trial in D2007 Pro and have several problems. I
was a field tester for H2 so have several ECO projects that I built in it.
Now, when I try to compile them in my actual machine, I get the messages:

File not found: 'Eco.VCL.dcpil'
Required package 'Eco.Handles' not found

Both files are in the same directory which is in the library path of the IDE
and the search path of the project.

Even more serious is that the models won't load. When I click on
ModelEditor of the EcoUtils menu item, I get the error message "Exception
has been thrown by the target of an invocation."

Any thoughts on this are appreciated. Thank you.

Check the AssemblySearchPath too. (MainMenu | Component | Installed
..Net Components | Assembly Search Path)

my initial thought related to the existence of dcpil files and is not
suitable for the public eye.

Did you upgrade from D2007 (the win32 release) or did you do a clean
install of RadStudio 2007?

During the FT, there were a couple of reports with issues on upgraded
machines.

Thanks for replying, Jonas.

c:\program files\capable objects\eco\4.0\bin is in that list also (where the
files are located).

I also tried to delete everything except the source files and recompile.
Same problems.

I started out doing an upgrade, but ran into a problem. By that point,
D2007W32 had been uninstalled. So, I went through and made sure all the
files were gone. They were. When I managed to install the app, it was
pretty much from a fresh install.

yes, old dcpil/dcuil files in the project folder is also a common
source of problems

Did you verify the removal of the files in AppSettings?

Do you have any possibility to install on a completely clean machine (a
VM perhaps)?

Has anyone else out there successfully compiled eco applications under
RadStudio2007 Pro? Our own tests have only been with Architect
installations.

I might have missed the one in my user name. A folder in C:\Documents and
Settings\FrankLuke\Application Data\Borland\BDS\5.0 has my IDE layouts from
preupdate. That would mean the folder was not deleted before this install.
Would that be causing this problem?

Not for production purposes. And getting it to install without having to
redo all my third party components is also a highly rated goal.

good

I would like to point out that the program still does not compile. Same two
error messages.
